Mr. Shurvone M. Brathwaite, Music Director of The Lydians

Mr. Shurvone M. Brathwaite is a musician and educator from the island of Tobago. His past performance experience includes performing with Tobago’s premier concert band, Glorious Sounds; Music Amateurs Choir; and the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Philharmonic. As an educator, he has taught in general and special education classrooms at the primary and secondary levels. At present, he serves as Principal Musician for The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Trinidad and Tobago, a secondary school Music Teacher in South Trinidad, and Conductor of the Solari Community Choir.

His community work includes serving as the Director (Academic Integration) on the Board of The All-Girls Alliance Percussion Ensemble (AGAPE), Music Director—Jr of The Lydians Tecomas; Customer Service Facilitator with the Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute; and Ordinary Member of PSCU Cooperative Society Limited’s Credit Committee. He holds a BFA in Performing Arts (Music) from UTT and a MEd from Framingham State University. He has also completed professional courses and workshops in Adult Education, Curriculum Development, Edupreneurship, Arts Integration, Music in Special Education, Entertainment Business, AML & CFT.
